As the deadline approached, in April I switched into decision‑making and consolidation. I committed to releasing three main songs for this project, gathered all sketches and recordings, and started shaping them into a coherent, focused EP rather than an open‑ended collection of ideas.
Finalising the core material
Decided firmly on three tracks for the project and let go of extra ideas that didn’t fully fit or couldn’t be finished in time.
Collected all fragments for each song (vocals, folk samples, synth ideas, structural notes) and organised them into clear session projects.
Tightened arrangements, clarified intros/outros and transitions, and made a concrete to‑do list for production, re‑recording and mixing.
Deep work on “Allaga Sheker”
Spent a large part of the month working heavily on “Allaga Sheker”, treating it as the rhythmic and energetic peak of the EP.
Found it easier to compose this track after being so strongly influenced by rave culture and club nights. I could already imagine it in future DJ sets and on rave dancefloors.
I drew on the spirit of rave culture with fast, repetitive electronic beats, high‑energy synth lines, and a sense of collective freedom and release that grew out of late‑1980s underground parties in the UK.
Used that mental image of future gigs and rave nights as a compositional guide: writing with the sound system, the crowd’s movement, and the “peak time” moment in mind.
