February was about bringing the songs closer to their finished form and starting to present the project more publicly. I spent time tightening structures, giving Minem Ilem a more authentic vocal identity, and creating online infrastructure around the project.

Online presence

  • Created a Linktree to gather all my key links (YouTube, socials, upcoming website) into one place for easier sharing.

  • Launched a basic website for the project/artist persona, laying the foundation for future visuals, gig announcements and EP information.

Song development

  • Focused on finishing off two songs as coherent drafts. Not fully produced yet, but with structures, sections and main ideas clearly defined.

  • Cleaned up arrangements, removed unnecessary layers, and noted specific tasks for future sessions (sound design, transitions, backing vocals, mix ideas).

Recording “Minem Ilem”

  • Made the first proper recording of “Minem Ilem”, focusing on getting a performance that feels true to Tatar vocal aesthetics.

  • Worked on replicating Tatar-style singing with heavy vibrato, paying close attention to phrasing, ornamentation and emotional colour.

  • Consciously maintained correct Tatar pronunciation, checking difficult words and sounds.

  • Consulted members of the Tatar society to ensure the vocal style and language felt respectful and authentic.

  • Imported this recording into the project to test how it sits with the existing arrangement, listening for balance between voice, electronic elements and folk-inspired instruments, and making notes for re-recording and production tweaks later.
