In November I moved from just piano to documenting experimentation. The focus shifted to testing ideas in practice, capturing them as audio and video, and beginning to understand how my folk‑inspired material behaves in electronic production environment.
Continuation of omposition & experimentation
Continued composing new sections and refining existing ones
Actively experimented with different compositional and production techniques: varying textures and register on the piano, trying alternative harmonies under the same melody, sketching rhythmic patterns that could later translate into electronic beats.
Documenting the process
Started recording video evidence of my compositional trials.
I used these videos to: track my progress over time, analyse what works musically and what doesn’t, create a visual archive for later reflection and assessment.
“Bolshoye Malenkoye Serdtse”
Spent time practising the song vocally and at the piano to stabilise melody, harmony and phrasing.
Attempted a first proper recording, testing how the piano‑vocal version might later interact with added instruments and electronic layers.
Tried out different recording techniques (microphone placement, gain levels, room positioning) to understand how to capture a clear, expressive performance for later production work.
“Minem Ilem”
Began experimenting with the newly found samples and traditional instruments that will form the core of the track’s sound world.
Explored how kurai and gusli‑like textures, as well as percussive and vocal samples, could be layered over an irregular 7/8 beat.
Started organising ideas into a more coherent structure, sorting sketches into sections (intro, main theme, development, possible breakdowns) rather than leaving them as isolated loops.
